Morrison Container Handling Solutions is proud to introduce our 2024 class of interns!

This year, Morrison carefully selected a team of nine individuals* who have genuine interest and enthusiasm in understanding the fundamental factors contributing to Morrison's success. Our interns jump in and work on real projects that have real results.

At Morrison, we are dedicated to helping expand and educate the future workforce, and our internship program is a direct reflection of that mission and our commitment to education.

Controls InternCody Chambers

University: Purdue University Northwest

Major: Electrical Engineering Technology

Year in School: Junior

Department: Engineering

Hobby: Reading and video games

What is something that you are looking forward to this summer with your internship?

I'm looking forward to drawing schematics and working on control systems.

What is something that you have already learned through being here?

I've learned differences in nomenclature, for example what certain things are referred to across industries.

What is something that you are excited to learn this summer?

I'm excited to work on programming schematics and control panels.

What skills do you want to develop while you are here?

I want to develop my overall programming skills.

What current projects are you working on?

I'm wiring a machine for a customer.

What is your favorite part about coming to work every day?

My favorite part is interacting with people and learning from managers, who are patient and willing to teach.

What is something that you like about working in the packing industry?

The concept of automation is unique to the packing industry.

Hobby: Going to the beach and working on cars

What is something that you are looking forward to this summer with your internship?

I'm looking forward to wiring a machine and working on control panels.

What is something that you have already learned through being here?

I've learned how to read blueprints and wire a machine.

What is something that you are excited to learn this summer?

I'm excited to learn as many different skills as possible.

What skills do you want to develop while you are here?

I want to develop my communication and wiring skills.

What current projects are you working on?

I'm working on control panels and other small tasks as needed.

What is your favorite part about coming to work every day?

My favorite part is organizing wires thoroughly and fastening them out of the way.

What is something that you like about working in the packing industry?

I like seeing firsthand how all of the machines on our shop floor work.


Emily WoottonMarketing Communications Intern

Year in School: Recent Graduate

Department: Marketing

Hobby: Fishkeeping

What is something that you are looking forward to this summer with your internship?

I'm looking forward to building on my past experience in marketing, graphic design, and social media.

What is something that you have already learned through being here?

I've learned the functions of timing screws, twist blocks, and change parts.

What is something that you are excited to learn this summer?

I'm excited to learn how to use a DSLR camera and Adobe Premiere Pro.

What skills do you want to develop while you are here?

I want to develop my social media management skills.

What current projects are you working on?

I'm working on our intranet, social media accounts, internal emails, and this 2024 Internship Program Blog!

What is your favorite part about coming to work every day?

My favorite part is the ability to see the effect of my work on the industry.

What is something that you like about working in the packing industry?

I like knowing that I am contributing to an industry where there is always demand.


Engineering InternEssence Burns

What is something that you are looking forward to this summer with your internship?

I'm looking forward to learning new skills, like working on twist blocks.

What is something that you have already learned through being here?

I've learned communication skills, organization, time management, and the process from design to manufacturing to shipping.

What is something that you are excited to learn this summer?

I'm excited about working on change parts, like stars and guides.

What skills do you want to develop while you are here?

I want to develop my consistency and attention to detail.

What current projects are you working on?

I'm working on change parts and NBCs, which are parts designed by companies.

What is your favorite part about coming to work every day?

My favorite part is learning from the people around me—everyone is friendly.

What is something that you like about working in the packing industry?

I like that the environment is always changing—customers are always ordering new products.


Marketing Communications InternEthan Scott

Year in School: Recent Graduate

Department: Marketing

Hobby: Tennis coach and hot wing enthusiast

What is something that you are looking forward to this summer with your internship?

I'm looking forward to hands-on experiences and career readiness.

What is something that you have already learned through being here?

I've learned that the people who work here are smart, amazing, and willing to both learn and teach.

What is something that you are excited to learn this summer?

I'm excited to learn about marketing videography and timing screws.

What skills do you want to develop while you are here?

I want to develop my interpersonal communication, videography, and other new skills that pop up every day.

What current projects are you working on?

I'm working on approval videos, timing screw promotional videos, and our intranet.

What is your favorite part about coming to work every day?

My favorite part is the people as well as the ability to do important work and make an impact.

What is something that you like about working in the packing industry?

I never knew about it before, and I've gained awareness of how everyday products move through the packing process.


Engineering InternFranklin Carter

Hobby: Basketball and video games

What is something that you are looking forward to this summer with your internship?

I'm looking forward to connections, experience, and how Morrison innovates (creates unique products that are tailored to each specific need).

What is something that you have already learned through being here?

I've learned CAD and communication skills (departments speak to each other a lot).

What is something that you are excited to learn this summer?

I'm excited to learn how to work with customers, understand their needs, and solve their problems.

What skills do you want to develop while you are here?

I want my develop my CAD and communication skillsalthough I have begun to learn them already, I want to develop them more.

What current projects are you working on?

I'm creating a toolbox by designing it using CAD, as well as working on part orders (products that customers request).

What is your favorite part about coming to work every day?

My favorite part is that the people are encouraging and have hopeful attitudesthey give the best answers that they can, and if they do not know, they direct to someone else at the company. Everyone is willing to help.

What is something that you like about working in the packing industry?

I now walk through grocery stores differently, and see products on shelves that Morrison has created products for.

What is something that you are looking forward to this summer with your internship?

I'm looking forward to developing skills.

What is something that you have already learned through being here?

I've worked on conveyor chains.

I want to learn as many different skills as possible.

I want to develop anything and everything that is possible.

What current projects are you working on?

I'm adjusting rails on a system for a customer.

What is your favorite part about coming to work every day?

My favorite part is keeping busy and working.

What is something that you like about working in the packing industry?

I like walking through stores and seeing products that we have worked with.

What is something that you are looking forward to this summer with your internship?

I'm looking forward to workplace experience and collaborating with the people who work at Morrison.

What is something that you have already learned through being here?

I've learned how to use Microsoft Power BI and Python (programming language).

What is something that you are excited to learn this summer?

I want to learn a variety of skills that I don’t yet know of.

What skills do you want to develop while you are here?

I want to develop my communication skills, work ethic, and working in a business environment.

What current projects are you working on?

I'm responding to Help Desk tickets and fixing computer bugs.

What is your favorite part about coming to work every day?

My favorite part is the community at Morrison.

What is something that you like about working in the packing industry?

It is uniquethere are always new projects to work on.


Production InternPaige Harrison

University: Purdue University Northwest

Major: Mechanical Engineering Technology

Year in School: Junior

Department: Production

Hobby: Welding, painting, baking/cooking, and off-roading

What is something that you are looking forward to this summer with your internship?

I'm looking forward to learning more in every area possible, learning about welding, and learning which types of Loctite work for different purposes.

What is something that you have already learned through being here?

I've learned how to weld stainless steel, which is different from steel as it warps, as well as working with lathes.

What is something that you are excited to learn this summer?

I'm excited to learn the specifics of the packing industry.

What skills do you want to develop while you are here?

I want to develop my CNC, programming, and fixturing skills.

What current projects are you working on?

I'm working on core plates, conveyor legs, and twist blocks.

What is your favorite part about coming to work every day?

My favorite part is being around the people who work at Morrison.

What is something that you like about working in the packing industry?

It is versatile and customizable.
